INFOMECH is a hydromechanical stations real-time SCADA monitoring system of Bahagian Perkhidmatan
Mekanikal Dan Elektrikal (BPME), Jabatan Pengairan Dan Saliran (JPS) Malaysia. This hydromechanical
stations consist of Pump House, Tidal Control Gate and etc.
Since 2003, JPS Malaysia has been consistently upgrading its hydromechanical stations from manual
operation into SCADA automated operation. Since then more than 100 Tidal Control Gates and more
than 10 Pump Houses throughout the country have been upgraded into SCADA automated function.
This system functions as a centralized platform of all SCADA automated hydromechanical stations.
The system will give the information about the real-time as well as the historical data and the
status of the integrated SCADA automated hydromechanical stations to user. By January 2012 about
70 hydromechanical stations have been integrated into this centralized real-time SCADA monitoring
system. JPS will be continuously enhancing the system and many more new and old SCADA automated
hydromechanical stations will be integrated into this system.
With the advancement of ICT coupled with robust R&D, this system which has been put in place
proved to be very useful and beneficial to both public and JPS staffs. Through INFOMECH
information such as gate/pump status, gate/pump mode, alarms, level warning, water level,
water level trending can be easily obtained.
It is hoped that this system will help the department and public greatly through providing
world class real-time and historical data of JPS's Mechanical Infrastructures.
